The Hotel

The Serra da Estrela Inn is nestled in the Serra da Estrela Natural Park, in Covilhã. The breathtaking views are of the snow-covered mountains or the vegetation of the highest mountains on the Portuguese mainland, standing at 1,993 meters above sea level.

Inside the building, the walls are pristine white, the ceilings are high and the traditional tiles are original and have been restored. You will also see fabulous old iron-and-wood elevators. Visit this work of the renowned architect Souto Moura, who restored the main structure of the old Serra da Estrela sanctuary.

At the Pousada, you will find a Spa with a sauna, Turkish bath and heated indoor swimming pool. In summer, you can enjoy the outdoor swimming pool and take a stroll through the gardens. The Pousada offers free parking, a restaurant and a bar, a game room and a Kids Club.

It is known that the snow appeals to the adventurous side of adults and to the magical world of children. Make the most of all the services before departing to discover of the mountain, and don’t forget to return and enjoy the indoor pool, sauna and Turkish bath.

Magic Spa massages are absolutely a must and can be adapted to your day activities. It is perfectly possible to spend a whole week at the Pousada and have a different massage every day, helping you find a balance after a long day. In summer, the plan remains valid, even if it has only spent the day in the sun loungers by the outdoor pool or in the garden benches to read.

Here the interior spaces are completely open to all visitors and the kids club area is ideal for entertaining children after dark. The games are also appealing to the addults, who can organize foosball tournaments, snookertournaments or even cardgames.

Next to the main hall you’ll find the bar, where you can enjoy a Fundão Cherry Gin and enjoy the view over the Cova da Beira landscape or, in the colder months, treat yourself to a hot chocolate by the fire.
Our wine shop, combined with the regional cheese and cold cuts board gives you a taste of the best food in the mountains.
Our live music evenings will surely contribute to a relaxing and convivial atmosphere, accompanied by a glass of regional liqueur.
